Story time, with a little bit of sadness
About a year ago, @helloitsliphotography wanted to try something different. She wanted to support some of her friends, one of her favorite businesses (@dailydosejax ) , and bring back the Drink + Draw, but make it for for people who didn’t want the pressure of drinking alcohol (for GAAM, that’s crazy! 😜).
I was proud, and said, “LET’S GO!”
@mtheholbrook (who we miss dearly, and will forever honor his spirit 😇💓🥹), Li, myself, and the team over at Daily Dose, started putting together these small Dry Drink + Draws… that for many that attend know…quickly became cozy (and packed!) sanctuary for artists who just wanted a chill vibe on a Saturday morning.
Every time these roll around now, however, there’s a tinge of sadness on our side. We love seeing what this has become, but we also wish Morgan was there to see it with us. Mo, Li, and I always say, “we wish Morgan was here” (especially when we need to move more chairs 😉🪑).
We actually feel like that A LOT, with many of the events and moments in our lives…we wish he was physically here. We know his wonderful family feels that way, too. But, we definitely still feel his spirit. 💓
Join us tomorrow (Saturday) for the one year anniversary of the Dry Drink + Draw. Celebrate being around good people and art. Celebrate supporting one another. Celebrate Morgan by making a Batman or Zuko (Avatar the Last Air Bender) sketch, or just by being a good human being … because he certainly was one of the most wonderful people to have ever been a part of our lives, and always will be. 💓
